E-Team

To keep us on the straight and narrow we have formed an in-house environmental team in search of eco-friendly alternatives for all of our operations. Since its inception in 2006, the team has been responsible for implementing our recycling program, replacing toxic cleaning solvents with earth friendly products and taking part in an in-house competition to see who could log the most hours commuting to work sans automobile.

Other projects in the works include a carbon offset program whereby, after calculating Portland Roasting Company’s carbon emissions, the e-team can determine, with the help of Trees for the Future , how many trees they need to plant to help offset their output. Big dreams, according to e-team organizers include constructing a green roof for part of the building with a rooftop garden.
