Coffee Estates
Project: The
Opportunity School
We buy robusta and
arabica beans from the Karnataka Coffee Estates and Sethuraman
Estate to use in our blends. We donated funds to The Opportunity
School to provide work skills training for the students. We are also
assisting the growers in developing a pulp-natural process that eliminates
excess water used in processing beans. We also assist in taste analyses, so
we can find an eco-conscious method of processing that doesn’t
sacrifice flavor.
We are implementing the same soil micronutrient program that we utilize in our Guatemala Farm Friendly program. We are working to improve plant health by analyzing soil and leaf nutrients and determining the best "diet" for maximum yield.
