Farm: Tembo Tembo Estate
Project: Walk for Water

Walk for Water is Portland Roasting's second annual World Water Day event that raises money for the construction of wells in sub-Saharan Africa. An educational event as well, the Walk calls attention to the plight of millions of women and children throughout the world who suffer from a lack of access to water. Held along the shores of the Willamette River in Portland, Oregon, the Walk for Water will raise money for Water For All, a non-profit organization that does the on-the-ground work of building wells and pumps.

Previous Projects in Tanzania:
Farm: Kigoma Cooperative
Project: Donations for quality control lab

We donated a moisture meter to the Jane Goodall conservation label coffee program – that directs proceeds from the sale of the Tanzanian coffee toward efforts to preserve chimp habitat in the Gombean National Forest.

Our work in Tanzania makes strides toward the Millennium Development Goal that seeks to ensure environmental sustainability.
