Farm: The family farms of Northern Sumatra, coffee purchased through PT Indo CafcoProject: Supporting a local foundation to fund multiple community causes
Welcome to our newest Farm Friendly Direct Project! This Farm Friendly product is our first that is a certified organic coffee. Normally we try to work directly with farms in the area but in this area it is difficult to work with a specific farm because the size of most family farms are only about 2 acres. So we are working directly with a local foundation (called Yayasan Bani Adam Permata Hati) to support multiple causes in the community where our coffee is grown and buying our coffee through PT Indo Cafco. The first step in this exciting new program begins with the rebuilding of a rural orphanage. During our recent visit we donated school uniforms and supplies. Our long-term goal is to assist farmers and their families in building programs that will nurture their communities for years to come.
