Farm: Madan EstateProject: Back to School
The Papua New Guinea Project marks our 5th project within
the
Farm Friendly Directâ„¢ Program. Previously, we helped subsidize the
building of a schoolhouse for the children in the Kinjibi Tribal
community. Our next project will be replicating this program for the
children of the Madan Estate.
Coffee was first brought to Papua New Guinea by Europeans
who
planted the Typica (Blue Mountain) variety -- now the beans are a leading
export. More than 70% of this coffee is grown and harvested in family
plots.
