A letter from Miguelina
August 15, 2007
Dear Mark:
I am writing this letter to express my appreciation to you for all of the help you have kindly given to us over the last several years. I have been thinking that since wee met and this business relationship has developed, I have received so many blessings, mostly with your help, that really I haven´t the words to thank you.
First was your help with the water purification system for the runoff water used in the harvesting process.I was so proud to have accomplished this because it was the only such system in the Huehuetenngo area. And with your help I was also able to greatly improve the living quarters of my workers.
I was the first Guatemalan woman in the group of Woman in Coffee leader ship program. thanks to you and now I´m organizing a group of ladies in Huehuetengno I already have l6 on the list, must of them are widows from the war and they need lots of help.
I am also happy because now my farm it will have the opportunity to participate in this experiment with a product that i am sure will result in a improvement of our coffee. It was a pleasure to have Ms. Wjwla, Andres and Mr. Mike.here on my house and in my farm I hope they enjoy trip and I hope next time you could come with them.
I thank you for all of this and for having purchased both containers of my coffee this year. This and all that you have done has greatly helped us especially after our loss as a result of the bank failing.
The companies that purchase our coffee the Exporters, generally know little of the types of problems we, the growers, face. An example es the changes es in climate occurring because of global warming, and the effect that it is having on our coffee. But you have been so understanding and generous with me and I thank you sincerely and ask your forgiveness if I have faulted in anything. Many thanks for everything, and may God bless you, and may our professional relationship continue for a long time.
Sincerely,
Miguelina.
